2024-2025 Registration

If you are interested in registering your child for the remainder of 2023/24 school year, please email the Registrar at registrar@discoverypreschoolyyc.com about availability and registration process. 

Preschool Registration is now open for 2024/2025!  *Both classes are FULL for 2024/25 and waitlists are available for each class - please contact the Discovery Preschool Registrar at registrar@discoverypreschoolyyc.com to be added to the waitlist.*

Registration is ongoing until classes are at capacity, at which point a waitlist will be started.  Spots will be granted on a first come, first serve basis based on registration forms and payments received once registration opens. The Registrar must confirm your registration. 

1. Review the 2024/2025 Registration Package.

2. Complete the online Registration Form (note: link will be provided to waitlisted families if a space becomes available in their desired class).

3. Pay Registration Fee (as outlined in the Registration Package). Note: Payments will not be accepted until the online registration form is completed.  

4. Complete Payment Acknowledgment Form from the 2024/2025 Registration Package and email the Discovery Preschool Registrar at registrar@discoverypreschoolyyc.com to complete your registration (please attach your Payment Acknowledgment Form from on this email or arrange to drop off at preschool). If this step is not completed, the Registrar will make best efforts to follow up within 2-4 business days to confirm interest in the program and complete your registration. 

If you were unable to attend the open house and would like a tour, please email registrar@discoverypreschoolyyc.com to arrange a time.

*Please note, we are a volunteer-run school, when sending an email to the registrar please expect a reply within two business days.  Please note that response times may be longer if we are experiencing a high volume of inquiries.

Third birthday by August 31, 2024; students turning three between August 31 and December 31 can be placed on the hold list until they turn three.

Fourth birthday by December 31, 2024

Please note:

• All students enrolled in the 3 year old class must be three years old prior to August 31. Children who turn three years old after August 31 and prior to December 31 can be registered and placed on a “hold list” until they turn three years old. Tuition fees will be collected for the months the student is on the “hold list”.  Please see Registration Package for additional information. 

• All students enrolled in the 4 year old class must be four years old prior to December 31.

• All students must be fully toilet trained.

• A completed registration form, payment of registration fee and arrangement to pay tuition by cheque or e-transfer are all required to register.

Affordability Grant Program & The Child Care Subsidy

In 2022, the Province of Alberta started providing subsidies for childcare and preschool programs. There are two main subsidies of interest:

1) the Affordability Grant

2) the Child Care Subsidy

The affordability grant is registered for through the preschool and applied automatically towards tuition (no action for registered families required, all families qualify for this).  The effective prices above already include the $75/month discount on tuition.

The child care subsidy is household specific and must be applied for by each individual household. A child care subsidy of up to $125 per month, per child, towards preschool tuition is available for households with a gross annual income of under $180,000.00. If eligible, parents must pay the regular preschool tuition and then will later be refunded by either cheque or e-transfer (their choice) once the subsidy has been paid to the preschool by the government, which happens monthly. For those waiting on application approvals, they will be reimbursed once approved by the Alberta Government and the government payments is made.
